Overview: Collaborated with project managers and designers to create the overall UX/UI for instructional courses, student resources, and course content. Developed instructional content to educate users on detecting and forecasting UX issues through inclusive practices and research. Led the visual design direction using style guides, mood boards, and the LMS, incorporating CSS and HTML for web projects. 🎨📚

How did this idea start?

The desired to create the brand image of the first black woman innovation studio for learners, investors and C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies looking to scale their businesses ethically. This course also trains teams to create using Incluversal methodology. 

 

A crucial UX challenge emerged — how to integrate diverse educational content to cater to users with varying levels of understanding. This challenge encompasses not only video content but also extends to course resources, demanding a solution that ensures accessibility, engagement, and an optimal learning experience for all users. The task ahead is to strategically address this challenge, harmonizing content delivery with user needs, and further enhancing the project's user-centric foundation. 🌐✨

Phase I: Tackling Key Goals

The dual objectives were clear: design a minimal, yet vibrant interface that exuded a modern appeal suitable for tech companies. Throughout interviews and meetings, the emphasis on a clean UI resonated, particularly for critical pages such as the front page, contact, and store. For the homepage, I strategically addressed key goals:

  • Crafted an engaging interface introducing the courses, strategically placing multiple course CTAs for seamless navigation. 📚

  • Presented the course creator in a friendly manner, fostering a connection between the audience and the individual behind the content. 👩‍🏫

  • Implemented social proof elements strategically to instill confidence in potential buyers, addressing any hesitations they might have. 🌟

  • I scoured industry best practices like Masterclass, Coursera, Udemy, and Khan Academy for inspiration. This content exploration not only enriched our approach but also set the stage for crafting videos that captivate diverse audiences.

  • Collaboration took center stage as I engaged in dynamic communication with our video editor. Together, we implemented improvements based on UX insights, fine-tuning videos for clarity, engagement, and an overall satisfying user experience.
